In Orvieto the cathedral suddenly bumps into you, or you into it.

And this is what exactly? Looks like something from a vampire movie.
Whereas these two are a couple of Canadians.

Orvieto is full of little nooks.
We stopped at the rest place with the belle vue of Orvieto. This is Banana-Joe and he has seen places.
Indiana Jones and his sidekick.
Then we stopped at Bolsena by the lake. Some parts of it were already in shade.
But even just an ordinary house looked splendid.
Some of it was half in shade, half in light. What exactly is this babe doing on top of this man?
But when you looked up, all worries drifted away.
Must be a light for Joey.
This head was particularly arresting.
The eyes were a bit droopy.
Another Bolsena flower child.
Good bye, Bolsena, the bird in flight and the yawning lady!

My guess is cinema, or maybe theatre. Or both.

Orvieto gives great views.
Next: Civita di Bagnoregio over that bridge. Liz spotted the statue.

Not many houses are populated, if any, but we found a lovely eatery.

Goodbye, Civita. Oh, how hot it was.
Back toward Orvieto, we found Lake Bolsena with wind turbines in the back.
Above Orvieto. Such lovely company. Bestia agrees.
Orvieto Cathedral is mind-blowing. And I haven’t even entered.

We found a perfectly sweet place.
A great little courtyard.
How well thought out everything is.
I bet even this pigeon is trained.
She was in the light.
Lights were there for the taking.

Let’s see what all can get twisted. In some cases it’s more literal, such as here. A school bus that walks in Rome.
Some vegetables are more twisted than others.

Man can make it twisted too, or better, rounded. What are those figures up to? (San Bruzio monastery ruins)

…and then for real. A double helix staircase leads down and up.
The small well next to the big well: Twist his nose and drink.
The view of Orvieto Scalo from the well: One track twists to allow for the trains to stop, while the fast trains can rush by on the other.
On the last day of last May: It’s twisted how yellow it was already! This year is completely different, nice and green.
