Thursday Doors, 20/12/18: 2018 Recap

Norm says to do a recap of this year doorwise, and so I have. I like recaps. They help you see.

It felt good going through my year in doors especially since this blog is about to close. Yes, again. I guess I’m eating up space like chocolate. This one lasted only a year!

Even though some who know me well (looking at you, Dan!) hinted that I’d have a hard time keeping my door recap below 50, I somehow managed.

Above is a selection of my favourite door photos as posted on Thursdays throughout the year for my favourite photo challenge. You can view all posts here.

Don’t worry about this blog closing because the new one is starting, as is my habit. Apparently it’s not true that every WP user only gets three free blogs because my forth is ready to be launched with the new year. I’ll announce it properly next week and then its door will open.

The first four door beauties in today’s selection come by way of family and friends (sister, sister, uncle, mom’s friend) and I’m extra grateful for these.

And towards the end you can see what happens if you keep your door open. It’s all good to have him in a door-frame, but it’s better still to let him into the kitchen. You get cookies.

Happy travelling Canadians.

Cin cin, buon appetito and have a great holiday package, everyone!

  1. A new blog already?! I’m not surprised, given that your inspired posts are always full of great treasures found on your travels. I can imagine that doing this recap was a challenge 🙂

It was great to see 3 of my favourites show up again – the gate with the vines, your dad walking up the stone steps, and the wall with the eyes. OMG – THE EYES!!!

Merry Christmas, Manja and best wishes for 2019!!

    1. Thank you, Joanne. Yes, this is the 200th post on this blog, I was just informed after posting it, and yet it’s getting full already. I’m glad to bring back some of your favourites. Who knows, maybe one day you’ll be peeking out of my door. What fun! Have a lovely holiday and happy everything! ❤

  2. With a full year’s worth of amazing doors I really don’t know how you managed to shave it down to so few, but you did: great job! Of all of these captures the shot of your dad on the stairs with the ‘borrowed kid’ is my favourite.
On another note you’ll be happy to know that I have already made 3 batches of those cookies for the holidays and I’m making a few more over the weekend.
Buon Natale and all the best for 2019 my friend 🙂

    1. Ah, thank you, Norm. I’m quite certain that I could make three more posts like this one but it will suffice. I had a hunch about the cookies, that some are ready yet, as I was squeezing the last drops of maple syrup into my yogurt. I’m sure they are as good as always. Lucky you and yours! Happy holidays!

  3. I remember seeing a lot of these doors on your blog throughout the year! Especially that gate covered in vines/branches! It was a wonderful trip down memory lane. Thanks for sharing your photos throughout the year – it’s been quite an adventure! Looking forward to the shiny new blog next year 😉
