Thursday Doors, 22/11/18: Door soup for Lens-Artists PC

Look on every exit as being an entrance somewhere else.
Tom Stoppard, “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead” (quotation reblogged from One Million Photographs)

It was exactly a month ago that I was forced to combine challenges and today I have to again, even though I don’t like doing it. But since I’m travelling in Slovenia, it comes handy.

For those who don’t know, I’ve been regularly posting doors on Thursdays for Norman Frampton’s Thursday Doors challenge for three and a half years. Let’s see:

That’s a lot of doors.

This week Tina of Lens-Artists photo challenge calls for doors too. What a good idea.

I wish to invite everybody who loves doors to take part in Thursday Doors. Norm posts a blue frog with his doors every Thursday where you click and add your door post. It’s addictive and it makes you pay attention to the world around you more.

In today’s gallery you can find an overview of what you can expect from my doors: Slovenia and Italy, colours and context, mundane and magnificent.

If you post so many doors and if you’re lucky, the Challenger himself will visit you in person and take a photo of you next to a grand specimen.

And when the train door closed upon his exit, a new entrance might have opened in Montreal. Now I only need to pass through.

    1. Thank you, Dan. I am enjoying it, even though I have not taken more than 10 photos all week. There is no light here! No sun at all! Only grey with an occasional fallen leaf. But there is family and this is what matters.

  1. The doors with the circle glass are interesting and ones that I’d love to walk through! I’m also curious about the black door in which it appears a square hole was cut and then covered. Wonder what that was all about?
Enjoy your travels and be safe.

    1. Thank you, Mary. 🙂 Oh yes, that round circle looks like such a fun thing to pass through. The black door is just that restaurant’s decoration and a place to put complaints but nobody does. Who knows what it was used for before.

    1. Thank you, Leya. 🙂 For this post I ran through photos of the last few months quickly to see which doors would stuck, only a handful I posted already. Your favourite got my attention for the light, I suppose, and I’m glad it spoke to you. 🙂

  2. Lots of lovely doors in this collection. Your calculation of how many doors posts you’ve done, now has me wondering how many I’ve done over the years. Actually I’m not sure I want to know 😀
I’m still sifting through my own pics from the trip but now that things have started to slow back down to normal with work, I will finish that this weekend and send you the ones that will be of interest to you.
In the meantime, enjoy your time away 🙂

    1. Ahh, thank you so much, Norm. I’ve got many photos still to send you as well. Eventually we shall. The count of my door posts was fun to do as I had to have a quick view of them all. And you have so many more of them! But no worries, nothing to be ashamed of. 😀

  3. So many doors to love in here – the double doors with the grand round window in Monteverde and the one following it. The light and shadows!!

… but it’s the end of this post I loved the most. The photo that Norm took of you, your thoughts on his exit through the train doors and re-entering in Montreal. May you too pass through one day to Montreal. I would also travel to Montreal for that occasion!!
