Thursday Doors, 20/9/18: More Norm’s doors

Welcome, all the good regular and irregular door people, and see the doors that most pleased our top door expert over the years.

And #8!!!!! That’s it, I’m getting on a plane NOW and heading straight there. I’m going to knock on that door and tell the people who live there that they have to get out because I am moving in 😀.

This is what he said two years ago in a comment to a Thursday Door post, and this is what he is doing right now. I hope that the kind people in Volterra, who live on #8, the door in the first photo in the gallery above, read my blog so they can get ready.

Yes, I’m talking about Norman of Thursday Doors, and this is the reason why I’m standing in for him and host this week. While he is coming to Italy, you are invited to leave the link to your door post under the blue frog right here.

Today you can see twenty doors in my wider neighbourhood, including some from Siena and Rome, since I’m located in Capalbio in the south of Tuscany between the two, an hour 45 minutes drive to either.

Just as last week’s doors were a selection from my first blog, today’s were handpicked by Norm as favourites from several Thursday Doors posts on my second blog. If you are wondering, this is my third. And if anybody still doesn’t know:

  6. All these doors are just amazing. Such style and history and I can’t help wondering what’s behind them. What they might be talking about or eating for dinner… Thanks so much for hosting this week and it must be fun meeting up with Norm and his wife. Have a few Vegemite sandwiches in my absence. Just the sort of thing you’d love to eat when holidaying in Italy.

    1. Oh, Rowena, thank you but I must admit I have never even heard of Vegemite sandwiches, let alone tried them. Google will be my friend. 😀 And thank you! I see now: “The Vegemite sandwich is a simple dish, which is known to frequent the lunchboxes of school children and the plates of casual breakfasters alike.” Hihih.

  10. Well my first thought is … these doors are so exquisite! I think we are sorely lacking color and character in our doors here in the U.S. so, I’m thinking perhaps a boring-door rebellion is in order! I am glad Janis and Norm have gotten me here!

If I had to pick out one favorite among my 20 favorites, I would choose ‘one of the colorful Monteverde shutters in Rome’ because that is a portrait of what I look like on the inside ;-).       1. It’s because I get so far behind not reading blogs on the week-ends, and life. There are several bloggers that I don’t delete even though I’m woefully behind. I like to read what they post, and see the images. You’re in that group. I don’t want to miss your beautiful scenery, doors, and well written narratives!
