Welcome, all the good regular and irregular door people, and see the doors that most pleased our top door expert over the years.
And #8!!!!! That’s it, I’m getting on a plane NOW and heading straight there. I’m going to knock on that door and tell the people who live there that they have to get out because I am moving in 😀.
This is what he said two years ago in a comment to a Thursday Door post, and this is what he is doing right now. I hope that the kind people in Volterra, who live on #8, the door in the first photo in the gallery above, read my blog so they can get ready.
Yes, I’m talking about Norman of Thursday Doors, and this is the reason why I’m standing in for him and host this week. While he is coming to Italy, you are invited to leave the link to your door post under the blue frog right here.
Today you can see twenty doors in my wider neighbourhood, including some from Siena and Rome, since I’m located in Capalbio in the south of Tuscany between the two, an hour 45 minutes drive to either.
Just as last week’s doors were a selection from my first blog, today’s were handpicked by Norm as favourites from several Thursday Doors posts on my second blog. If you are wondering, this is my third. And if anybody still doesn’t know:
Thursday Doors is a weekly feature allowing door lovers to come together to admire and share their favorite door photos from around the world. Feel free to join in on the fun by creating your own Thursday Doors post each week and then sharing it, between Thursday morning and Saturday noon (North American eastern time), by using the blue link-up button below.
If you share your posts on Twitter and Instagram don’t forget to use the #ThursdayDoors hashtag and please do take a few minutes to visit the Thursday Door posts shared by others.
Guest-hosting Norm Frampton’s Thursday Doors challenge this week.
Some great doors there and thanks for hosting in Norm’s absence.

I have lots of doors, Manja. What I don’t have is lots of time! 😕

Ahh, I trust you in that. Whenever you can.

These are classic Manja Doors! I love them, I’d kick people out to live behind them, too.
Thanks so much for standing in for Norm today so that the rest of us can still participate in this fun challenge.

Hihih, imagine if I’d try to break this news to them, that they need to evacuate and for what reason. 😀 Thanks, Dan, and you’re always welcome.

Those are lovely doors, and I agree with you about the prettiest of Civitella Marittima. Thanks for hosting this week.

All these doors are just amazing. Such style and history and I can’t help wondering what’s behind them. What they might be talking about or eating for dinner… Thanks so much for hosting this week and it must be fun meeting up with Norm and his wife. Have a few Vegemite sandwiches in my absence. Just the sort of thing you’d love to eat when holidaying in Italy.
Best wishes,
Rowena

Oh, Rowena, thank you but I must admit I have never even heard of Vegemite sandwiches, let alone tried them. Google will be my friend. 😀 And thank you! I see now: “The Vegemite sandwich is a simple dish, which is known to frequent the lunchboxes of school children and the plates of casual breakfasters alike.” Hihih.

Well my first thought is … these doors are so exquisite! I think we are sorely lacking color and character in our doors here in the U.S. so, I’m thinking perhaps a boring-door rebellion is in order! I am glad Janis and Norm have gotten me here!

Hehe, Linda, boring-door rebellion for real! 🙂 Welcome and thank you!

I am in love with door #1, which is door #2 in this series. That turquoise blue door speaks to me today! And I can’t wait to go back to that old door post to read about Norm and the people behind door #8, sounds hilarious! I take it you two are meeting up at some point? Have fun and remember to post pics… Happy Thursday Manja.

Hahha, Denny, Norm only mentioned those poor people in a comment to that post. Who knows, one day I might show it to them and we will laugh and laugh. 😀 We shall meet indeed in the second half of their travels. I think we won’t forget about the photos. 🙂 Thank you!

As a lover of doors, this selection is exquisite and reminds me of the many beautiful doors I’ve come across while living and travelling in Mexico! Thank you for hosting…I hope you all have a blast!

Thank you, Kim! I have zero doubts about that. 😉 I haven’t been to Mexico yet but I’m sure the doors there would amaze me, and all the rest.

Good job today! 😀

Thank you, Joey. I realised that the door doesn’t seem all that big just from the photo. That note came in handy.

Love, love these doors! They remind me of the doors I’ve photographed during my visits to Mexico. Thanks for taking over the hosting while Norm is traveling (and enjoy your visit with him!).

Thank you, Janis. 🙂 Must be that the cultures are a bit similar, haven’t been there myself. I know I’d love it though. Looking forward to the visit!

I like the green doors best (esp the one with cat)!

Thank you, Emma. 🙂 The cat is not very obvious, isn’t it. I wonder if anybody would spot it without my alert.

I am gaga for this gallery of doors. If I had to pick out one favorite among my 20 favorites, I would choose ‘one of the colorful Monteverde shutters in Rome’ because that is a portrait of what I look like on the inside ;-). Thrilled to hear that Norm is coming for a visit and can not wait to read all about your shared exploits in a future post #bloggermeetupsrule. Enjoy!.

Hihi, thank you, Lady Lisa Gaga. 😀 Your reason for choosing the favourite made me giggle. Possibly better to look thus on the inside than on the outside. 😉 Blogger meetups are the best thing after finding life partner online (yah, that happened to us). Happy sea!

Lovely selection of doors. My favorites are the teal one in Civitella Marittima and the small blue one in Via Cava. So pretty even though they are a bit beat up. Thanks for hosting for Norm.

You’re welcome, Donna, and thank you! Yes, many doors here are a bit beat up, but aren’t we all. 😉

Beat up doors are my favorite kind. They have more personality than the perfectly cared for ones.

Hehe, Norm, you have indeed, it was not only a dream. 🙂 Two of them for sure, even three if you count the drive-by in Orbetello that I did to honour this door but we only saw it from the car. You’re always welcome.

It’s because I get so far behind not reading blogs on the week-ends, and life. There are several bloggers that I don’t delete even though I’m woefully behind. I like to read what they post, and see the images. You’re in that group. I don’t want to miss your beautiful scenery, doors, and well written narratives!
