Day ten & WPC: Miles of smiles

My laptop compiled a gallery of smiling images, including the ones below, on its own accord. I have a feeling that it checks out the weekly WPC theme on its own without me.

Obviously it has realised that I need a kick in the butt and doesn’t want me to miss this week’s challenge, which is — surprise! — on the theme of Smile.

Challenge 10 of April, the poetry month: “Today, we’d like to challenge you to write a poem of simultaneity – in which multiple things are happing at once.” They say “happing”. What if this is something completely different?

But right now these are smiling all at once just for me and you, courtesy of no-coincidence Windows 10 and its Photo Gallery. Each verse is repeated under the corresponding photo in the gallery.

Miles of smiles

Take one smile that you know well,
add another that made you you,
cry for this smile since it quickly melts,
hope all could smile as these two do.

Find a random joyful girl or two
and another one who gives good kale,
one whose smile guards a statue store,
one that was happy but lives no more.

A smile is to get this book in the mail,
or hers with advice to follow your heart,
he did it – though happy hippie he’s not,
and so did I, bestia and poems and all.

  1. How can I not slow down and slowly take in a post full of smiles? It was worth the short delay in clearing out my ever burgeoning inbox and running ragged outside the house – thank you! 🙂
