Enjoy the little things in life because one day you’ll look back and realize they were the big things.
—Kurt Vonnegut
Challenge 9: “We challenge you today to write a poem in which something big and something small come together.”
Little big things
You little white pebble, you small brook,
you crooked tree branch, a good book.A shell in your pocket, a rosemary twig,
a favourite sentence, nothing that big.Who only thinks big and dreams even bigger,
must not be too bummed when little things wiggleaway from his life, so he’s alone when he dies,
since nothing worth keeping was found the right size.
nice Vonnegut quote – and nice car!!!

Thank you, Dan. 🙂 Good to hear that you like Kurt. There was a time when I just had to buy every book I saw by him in shops. And you know how many he has.

I do, I have copies of all of them. I remember waiting for them as they were being published.

“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don’t let anybody tell you different.” That’s my favorite Vonnegut quote.

I can tell by your blog that you are a disciple of this theory! But you add ambition to the farting around, as did he.

Hehe. Was this imperative? “Add ambition”. Or present tense? Because I don’t think I’ve been adding any so far. Ambition is a bit of a curse word in my world…

20 photos in one post is ambitious. Give yourself credit.

Ahh, thank you, Jan! ❤ I feel they are all forced. It's exactly like when I make a meal and find it tasteless even though others say it's fine. I wonder who installed this into me and when.
